Would it be bad??

I'm thinking I need to make a sign for my door that says "Just Go Away". I'm really not a mean person, really, but I am really sick and tired of people thinking they can just come here when things go wrong. Remember the neighbors that we helped when their house burned down... you know, the ones we opened our home for and didn't even get a "thanks". The ones we haven't heard peep from since they took their donations and put new rims on their car... well. The boys got locked out of the house today so they came to our house. They said their mom told them to come here, that it was ok becuase I don't work. Um, hello, just because I don't need to work doesn't mean I sit around on my butt waiting to help anyone that might need it. I had things to do today that now have to wait until tomorrow which means the list of crap I had to do tomorrow isn't going to get done before I leave for Florida. That means I get to do it when I come home. So much for a relaxing trip, now I'm going to be worried about the mess I get to come home to.

I think one of the shirts I'm going to make for myself is going to say "I'm not your doormat".

I'm gettin' crafty

Really, I am! Not in my usual make stuff with paper way though. I'm making t-shirts. I've wanted to for ages, I figure why not now?? I'm going to start a few for Ari and Ella and see how it goes. If they turn out I may sell them through the blog. Cheap, of course. Well, not cheap, but inexpensive. I may even make one or two for moi!!

Ari is officially on soy milk. I have no idea what's been causing ten straight days of massive poo but I'm going to try everything I can think of to make the lil guy feel a bit better. We gave him the soy milk at dinner and he guzzled the entire cup. He's also back on the BRAT diet (bananas, applesauce, rice, toast for those of you not in the know). We don't do the rice and substitute waffles for toast, but you get the idea. Although tonight Ari thought it would be better that I wear the apples instead of him eat them. Fantastic. Good thing I had on shorts, I wiped right up! I just hope the Bean gets his bowels in order before we leave for Florida Friday. It could make for an interesting plane ride.

I've been scrapping every day and loving it. I've done several layouts just for me, no design team work. That does remind me though, I have two more layouts to do this week. Guess I better get off here and get movin...

10 Days

Wake up. Put Ari straight in bathtub. Peel jammies off. Add to washing machine. Rinse poo off. Take him out. Clean tub. Put him back in. Strip linens, blankies and animals from crib. Add to washing machine. Start washing machine. Wash Ari head to toe. Take him out again. Scrub crib rails with Clorox wipes. Put laundry in dryer. Run washer empty to make sure no poo residue is left. Dress Ari and head downstairs.

Repeat at nap time. Both of them.

Eye Candy!!

I've also been making some of the things I brought home from Nashville last month. All the supplies have been sitting in their little canvas tote just wanting to be created. So, I'm under way... pictures to come!

my face hurts...

Seriously, I've been crying like a baby for two hours. Stupid P.S. I Love You. You know it's bad when the movie starts off sad, I should have known better. Now I can't breathe through my nose and my shirt is wet.

27 Dresses however was awesome. Love it, am going to buy it so I can torture Matt with it over and over! *wink* Really though, great movie. It's a chick flick but funny at the same time. I caught Matt turned around in his chair more than once watching along with me.

Oh, Dan in Real Life was pretty funny too. Not what I thought it would be but still pretty good. I'd watch it again for sure.

Can you tell it was movie rental week around here?? It's been ages since I've even felt there was anything worth paying for (rentals, let alone theater tickets) so I figured I'd go all out and get my top three.

Michelle and Ella came over to play today. I shamefully wore my bathing suit all day in an attempt to get some sun before our Florida trip Friday. Yeah, I am SO fried... oops. Guess when it's been two years since you last wore a bikini you get pretty pasty. Noted! Anyway, we went to Five Guys Burgers & Fries for dinner and I wanted to swing by Old Navy. Ari needs another swimsuit, since he's lost a little weight his other pair fall off when they get wet. $60 later we both have new suits and a few shirts too. Someone PLEASE take away my debit card!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with pictures, my eyes are KILLING me and the computer screen isn't helping matters. Good Night!!!

Well, it's been a few...

Seems this week just sort of disappeared on me! Ari was a bit under the weather all week, we had a couple doctors appointments and I spent most of my free time just hanging out with him. He seems better, the gastrointestinal issues have resolved for the most part, he just has less energy. I think the lack of eating for a week has finally caught up to him. Either way he's definately feeling better which is nice!

We went to story time at Joseph Beth Friday, Michelle and Ella were there with another mom friend and her little girl. Matt actually took Ari and I went to my salon to get a hair cut! It was nice to kill two birds with one stone, now I don't have to drive back and pay a sitter to watch Ari. My hair looks awesome, it's my favorite cut so far! It's pretty much the same as last time, just shorter.

Last night we had some friends from the airlines over for dinner. We've known them since Ohio so it's nice that they're here now too! They have two boys, Ari was SO excited to play with the big kids. He had SUCH a good time, that could be part of his fatigue today! He took two 3-hour naps today, gasp!! Dinner was great, we are going to make it a regular thing. Yay!

Matt had his check ride for work today. He has to fly the simulator with an instructor once every six months in order to maintain his position as Captain, if you fail you get fired basically. He passed with flying colors, obviously, so we went out to dinner to celebrate. We weren't celebrating the passing part since that's pretty much a given but more so the "put the stress behind us and not have to worry about studying again" celebration! While we were out I popped in the Gap for some new clothes. I got these and this and another really cute top that has crotcheted flowers across the back of the shoulders... super cute and perfect for summer!

Tonight is going to be lazy, I plan to watch 27 Dresses and do some scrapbook stuff. Matt is on his computer playing chess so he'll be occupied for at least a few hours!! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday!!

Pool Day!!

It was WAY too gorgeous not to go for a swim. Well, more like a splash!!

Of course, now I'm super crispy (I didn't realize just how cloudless the sky actually was until we came inside, oops). Good thing I tan easily, it should be brown tomorrow instead of lobster red!!

I suppose that's enough for today. Until tomorrow...

Crop Addict June Layouts

I have another layout to do still but it's been tough to get anything done this weekend with Ari not feeling well. He's actually upstairs screaming right now so I better go...

Happy Sunday to you!

Not much going on here, we're laying low because Ari has an upset tummy this weekend. He's acting fine, just some diaper issues. Ick. It's actually been nice to just hang around the house and work on this and that. The weather has been so absolutely gorgeous, we've been working outside to get the back yard in order. It is very apparent that we have a kiddo here but that's ok with me. After all, we do have a kiddo here! Here are a few pics of what we've been up to...

The new canopy. The old one that we got from Target last year completely fell apart. Horrible design and a complete waste of money but I guess that's how things go sometimes.

The outdoor chandelier. Love it!

The new screen/storm door. The top of the window slides down, pulling a screen down in it's place. It's a retractable screen, or at least it was. I opened the door to get the paper this morning and the screen had come off the top somehow and is just hanging. I'm not a happy camper about that, this door was special ordered from Anderson not even two weeks ago. Come tomorrow someone's getting a phone call...

Ari's "compound". Seriously, this kid has it all. The crabby sandbox has plastic play balls. He dives head first right over the edge, too cute! Notice he now has a "house with a pool". Yeah. Call us crazy but we're actually going to landscape his house, giving him a sidewalk and a little driveway for his car. He's probably too young to care much about that right now but the end of summer and definately next year he'll be all over it! We're a little indulgent but I'm of the mindset that we're fostering creative play and imagination. At least he's not just watching tv...

Let's see, today... Ari's down for his morning nap. We're finally back on schedule after about a week of waking up at 6 am. Mom's not having that, no one should be up that early, other than the birds. He woke up at 7:45 today. Much better! We have breakfast at 8, nap from 9-11, lunch at noon, nap from 1-3, dinner at 5, bath at 7 then straight to bed. I tried to be a little more lenient (sp?) with that routine and that's how we started waking up at 6 and being so completely whiney and fussy during the day that I wanted to hide. We may run a few errands or we may not. Just depends on how motivated I am to actually leave the house. Right now a lazy day scrapping and reading in the backyard sounds much more appealing. I'll let you know what I decide ;)

How about I leave you with a scrappy creation I made yesterday. Matt and I seem to have trouble remembering what needs to be done around here on his days off so I made this neat little corkboard to help us remember. I got the board at the Target $ spot and the inspiration to alter it from my friend Virginia who made a similar one a few weeks ago. I'm going to put magnets on the back so it can stay on the fridge. I know, the fridge! *I don't have anything on my fridge, I dislike the clutter, but I held it up and it will be cute*

Of course, the little one. Can't post pictures without one of him. Nevermind the squash on his face, it was a battle of epic proportions just to get it near his mouth. Have a great day!!

Ari's First Haircut

We didn't get any good "after" shots because he was screaming! We didn't really know why until, at Gymboree, I noticed she had poked him twice with the scissors. One was actually scabbing over! The second poke was on his little cheek and you know that had to hurt, those scissors are sharp. Next time we'll ask for someone else!

Ugh.

Sorry, I haven't been in a very blogging mood lately. Do you ever have a day (or stretch of days) where you just feel totally bummy? Well, that's me. I'm in a funk and can't seem to find my way out of it. I feel completely overwhelmed and don't seem to have the ability to get on top of whatever it is I need to get on top of. Don't feel like you need to help, this is just one of those things that needs to work itself out, I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

Anyway, we had a great weekend in Louisville. It was so nice to spend some time with Dick and Sharon. Ari is so in love with them, full of smiles and giggles. Well, except for one afternoon when his top molars cut through the gums. Seriously, how many more teeth are there?? Here are a few pics.

If you don't "hear" from me in a while I'm ok, just don't really want to blog about bummy things and bring everyone else down. I was always told, "if you don't have anything nice to say just don't say anything at all." That's my motto and I'm sticking to it.

Bad Blogger...

sorry, I've been MIA a bit this week. There really hasn't been much blog-worthyness happening around here. Wednesday was Gymboree, it was a little frustrating because Ari was SO not into group activity. Everytime we'd try to participate he'd throw a tantrum until I let him run back to this hilly wooden bridge thing. It was a few feet off the ground and had other wooden play things around it so I had to stand there the whole time making sure he didn't crack his head open. It was sort of boring and lonely but I guess he had fun and that is technically the point of these classes.

Thursday was my day out! I went to Just Fresh Kitchen Cafe for lunch. I actually sat down and ate my food instead of inhaling it as fast as possible in order to stave of an Ari meltdown. I took a book and read in between bites, I think I was there for 30-45 minutes, by far the longest time I've been in a restaurant since Ari's new found independence and ability to scream so loud you want to crawl under the table and pretend he's not with you. After lunch I went to my most favorite nail spa for a pedicure. It was so luxurious, I'm not to thrilled with the color I picked but that's really beside the point. The experience was what I was craving and my feet are so soft! I'm definately making this a routine now, I deserve a little pampering now and again.

Today: I'm at home waiting on the security people to fix our alarm system... again. This time they're giving us more window sensors and replacing a few of the ones that were not installed properly in the first place. Oh, and this month's service will be on them for causing me to waste my day and half a tank of gas when it went off due to shoddy installation! I know it sounds like I'm being a brat but this is not the first issue we've had with said system and I want to do what I can to make sure it's the last~

Matt is on his way to Home Depot to pick up the screen door we ordered for the front door. We're having a barbeque tonight, just the three of us. I want to see if Ari will eat grilled chicken... he loves chicken nuggets and tenders, this seemed like the next logical step! I'll let you know how it goes!

Fresh Picked Strawberries!

It was SO gorgeous here today, in the mid 80's and not a cloud in the sky! After a morning nap (both of us!!) we met Michelle and Ella, and Michelle's friend Brian, at Chic-Fil-A for lunch. Ari was in such a good mood and incredibly happy to see Ella (even though we were just there yesterday). He ate three chicken nuggets, a waffle fry and a fruit bar, yay! It's funny, he is so outgoing and sociable... unless he's never seen you. Then he's incredibly shy, it's too cute! Brian would try to say hi to him and he'd bow his head and stare at his lap, hehe. I swear he can be the cutest little man I've ever seen!!

After lunch we headed to the strawberry patch to pick our own. It was SO hot out and I think Ari was tired, he was pretty whiney the whole time. I managed to pick about 2 pounds of berries though and snapped a few pictures. Of course the only pictures of Ari are of his back becuase he was constantly running up and down the row pulling at the leaves. He melted down after a little bit so we had to leave. It's probably good though becuase his cheeks got a little pink despite a thick coat of sunblock.

After strawberry picking we went shopping, of course. I wanted to buy a cover for the baby pool so we don't have to drain it every day, I feel a little more "green" not wasting so much water. We also picked up the "crabby sandbox" and some play balls so Ari has his very own ball pit! Ella has the Nemo sandbox with play balls and Ari has so much fun, I knew it would be a good purchase!

When we got home he was sound asleep, not even waking when I carried him upstairs to his crib! I set up the backyard so it was ready to go when he woke up. He was so thrilled to be out there, he played without a peep for two hours!!!

I spread out a blanket and read a book in the sunshine, it was fabulous. This will be the first summer in two years that I will be able to be outside! Last year Ari was pretty little and on a nebulizer for breathing difficulty (the heat made it worse, so we stayed in the air conditioning) and the year before I was pregnant!

Anyway, as I'm rambling on and on I'm realizing that in all the fun we've been having the past few days I have accomplished almost nothing in the way of housework. I can at least say that the clean laundry pile is larger than the dirty pile, but it is just that... a pile. Why is it so much harder to put it away than it is to get it out?? Either way I need to get my buns in gear. We have more fun things planned for every day this week, I cannot put off the cleaning any longer! Wish me luck...

What a day...

It started off just fine, except for Matt having to work :( which always bums me out a little. Ari has been pretty good the past few days, I think he's happy to be home! He's actually been sleeping a little more than normal, believe it or not. He's been going to bed by 7, sleeping until 7 am only waking to have breakfast then going back down for a nap at 7:30. He's been napping from around 8 am to 11:30 the past few days and still takes an afternoon nap from 1-3:30! I don't know if it's a growth spurt, his eating hasn't changed, or if he was just worn out from the travelling. Either way, he's sleeping which means more free time for mommy! I've been a scrapping fool... it's been wonderful!

Back to today... after all the napping I decided Ari and I would head to South Blvd. I wanted to go to Michael's and Babies'R'Us and desperately needed some groceries so a Target stop was in order. We made it through the first two stores and on the way to Target my cell phone rings. It's CPI, our security company, calling to "verify the alarm activation". Um, hello... I'm not home, I didn't set off the alarm. Great, the police are on the way to investigate THE BREAK IN!!! I'm totally freaking out, driving like a maniac to get home. I called my neighbor, she went to talk to the police but said everything looked fine, thank goodness. Turns out it was a false alarm, a faulty sensor on one of the doors. I'm SO not a happy camper. I didn't get to go to Target, at least the Target on South Blvd. I had to go to the one closest to the house, otherwise I have nothing to eat. I really wanted a pizza and some Diet Coke... well, Target is sold out of Diet Coke. Every last one. How on earth can a Super Target be sold out of Diet Coke. I bought a bottle of wine instead, I'm thinking at this point I need a glass (or two)...

I'm pretty worn out, I think the alarm scare took it all out of me. That and it's 86 degrees and humid, ick. Where's the beach?? I think I'm going to have that pizza and wine now... my head hurts.

Oh, and it wouldn't be a very fun post without at least one picture. Here is our kitty, Mika. Hehe... Matt was goofing with the camera last night and just happened to snap this right as she was licking her chops. Seems she's a pretty big fan of Wendy's french fries...

Everyone is home!!!

WooHoo! My little brother arrived safe and sound (and on time!), home from a year long tour in Korea. He is in the Air Force, serving for the fourth year now, shock!!! He's going to be stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida very close to our dad which is awesome. There are going to be many visits down that way this summer, it's so good to have him "home"!

We're home now too, no more travelling! I'm worn out, the house is a disaster. I barely recover from one outing before we're off on another. We did get the yard under control today, it was starting to look like a giant weed jungle out back! We had a great time though, it was sunny and in the 80's the whole time we were there. It was super windy though, too windy to spend time on the beach and the flags were red so no going in the water. It was rough, I wouldn't have wanted to go in even if the wind was calm.

Other than that, I've been wrapping up some scrap work for Crop Addict. One of our DT members was incredibly un-lucky last month, falling on her hand and needing surgery so her kits were graciously sent to me! It's always fun getting scrappy things but my work load was HUGE!!! I think I did 18 layouts and 5 projects this month between my DT responisibilities and the manufacturer kits! It was SO much fun though and I made a serious dent in my pile of unscrapped pictures.

Here are a few pics of what I've created:

Believe it or not, I am totally itching to start my next scrappy projects! I feel like my creativity is bursting at the seams, I think it's because I have a bunch of new things to use. If you don't hear from me in a few days it's because I'm happily burried under cardstock and embellishements!!
